“Kind of a shame the way things ended up in the first race here at Road America. Off the bat on the first lap going into Turn 5, I was going to pass a guy and didn’t leave me enough room. My front wing contacted his left rear and it looks like we broke one of the pillars that connects it to the nose cone. When the tires were fresh, I was able to be decently quick and kind of racy. But once the tires went away, and not having that downforce in the front wing, I was getting eaten up in the brake zones and high-speed corners. There wasn’t really much we could do after that. It was a great recovery for the No. 28 K-Line crew. Obviously, I want to come home with something a little better than that, but we’ll see what we have for tomorrow morning.”
